Within the Olive Tree Bible App, we offer the ability to copy and paste text. This article will explain the 'Copy Verse' settings within the app as well as our two methods of copying text.
Copy Settings:
You can adjust the copy and paste settings within the Olive Tree Bible App by following these steps:
Select Bible Study in the top bar and then Settings.
Select 'Copy Verse' to access the 'Include Verse Numbers,' 'Include Translation in Citation,' and 'Include Verse Reference' settings.
Toggle the 'Include Verse Numbers' and 'Include Translation in Citation' settings on or off to adjust as desired. Here are some examples of pasted text (using Method 1 below) to demonstrate how these settings will paste text:

Method 1 - Copying Full Bible Verse(s):
When copying one or more Bible verse(s), the best method is to simply select Bible verse number within the app and select 'Copy':
On the pop-up that appears, select 'Copy':
If you wish to copy multiple Bible verses, use the up arrow to select more verses:
To customize the view of the pasted text, you can select 'Options':
Toggle 'Verse Numbers' and 'Translation' on/off to customize. Note that as you toggle the switches, you will see a preview of how the text will paste.
When you're ready to copy, select the green 'Copy [number] Verses' option.
Method 2 - Copying text:
When copying just a few words from a Bible or when copying text from a non-Bible resource (e.g. a commentary, dictionary, study Bible notes, etc.), you will need to click and drag to select your desired text.
Click and drag a word or multiple words to select the text you wish to copy.
Select command + C to copy text. Alternatively, you can secondary click or hold the 'control' key and click to get a dropdown with various options, including 'Copy'.
If you do have the 'Include Translation in Citation' setting turned ON (see steps to locate the setting above) then you will see the title (Bible, Commentary, Dictionary, etc.) of the resource the text was copied from when you paste. Here is an example:
(Bible Knowledge Commentary (2 Vols.)) It is almost as if John had said, “I want you to consider Jesus in His teaching and deeds. But you will not understand the good news of Jesus in its fullest sense unless you view Him from this point of view. Jesus is God manifest in the flesh, and His words and deeds are those of the God-Man.”
