The app’s settings allow you to customize features such as font size, colors, scrolling style, hyperlink behavior, and more. This article provides an overview of the available settings, with brief explanations where helpful.
Quick Settings
While viewing the Bible text, tap the Quick Settings icon to quickly access the most commonly used display options:
- Font Size – Adjust the font size in the main window.
- Select Theme – Choose between the default or low-light theme. (Note: Only the default theme can be customized.)
- Vertical Scrolling – Switch between vertical and horizontal scrolling.
- Font Face – Change the font style used in the main window.
- Advanced Settings – Open the full settings menu (details below).
Advanced Settings
To access Advanced Settings, select Bible Study from the top menu bar, then choose Settings. You can also reach this section from the Quick Settings menu.

Fonts
- Change the font face and size for different areas of the app.
- Reset Fonts.

Colors
- Change the background and font colors.
- Reset Colors.

Themes
- When your Mac is in Dark Appearance, choose between the Dark or Black theme.
- In Light Appearance, only the Default (light) theme is available.

Scrolling
- Choose between vertical (swipe up/down) and horizontal (swipe left/right) scrolling.
- Set whether the Resource Guide and Parallel tabs are linked to the main window.

'Go To'/ T.O.C.
- Customize how Bible navigation appears depending on whether the Bible has a Table of Contents. You can choose between a list view or a verse grid for easier selection. You can also adjust the grid size for a more compact layout.

Hyperlinks
- Set a default Bible for hyperlinks.
- Choose how hyperlinks open.

Resource Guide
- Edit and order the sections and books that appear in the Resource Guide.

- Show Strong's Numbers
- Verses Start on a New Line
- Hide Notes and Highlights in Text

- Multi-Column Text

Copy Verse
- Choose what to include when copying Bible text. (Please note, the verse reference will only appear if you copy by selecting a verse number in the Bible text.)

Automatic Sync
- Choose to automatically sync data.

Reset Fonts and Colors
- Reset all fonts and colors to the default. This can fix some display issues.

- Enable or disable privacy settings and personalization/messaging in the app. You can learn more about privacy settings here.

Sidebar Settings
- Customize your sidebar to show/hide Bibles, Favorites, and Recents.
