Opening and Adjusting the Split Window
The Study Center is in the split window. It can be opened by selecting the 'Study' icon in the upper right corner.
The size of the Study Center can be adjusted by dragging the tab in the center of the border between the main and split window.
If you drag the bar far enough that the split window is too small, the Study Center will close automatically.
Study Center Tabs
There are four Study Center options that can be opened in the split window. As you navigate between the different tabs, your place will be saved. Here are the options:
Resource Guide
As you read your Bible, the Resource Guide follows along and looks in your Library for any information that is relevant to your reading. The information in the Resource Guide will update automatically as you scroll through your Bible in the main window.
The Resource Guide is designed to move quickly between information from your library that relates to the Bible text in the main window. By design, the Resource Guide tab will return to the root screen (which has the various sections such as Related Verses, Commentaries, Bibles, etc.) when you return to the app.
To save your place in the text, we recommend Parallel (see next section). Parallel is designed for reading two resources in parallel for long periods of time.
Parallel
The Parallel tab allows you to view a Library item parallel to your main window. With this layout, you can compare different translations or view a commentary or study notes next to the Bible text in the main window.
Notes
In the Notes tab, you can view, edit, and create personal notes.
Search
In the Search tab, you can search for a word or phrase. Search results will be listed for your library of Bibles and books as well as for your personal notes. When you are typing your search, there will be prefilled terms (e.g. People, Places and Topics) that can be selected to perform a Lookup on that term.
To execute a search, finish typing your desired search and hit enter on your keyboard.
You can also filter your search if you wish to see results related to certain Books of the Bible. To search your entire Library, make sure that 'None' is selected.
Linking Windows
While using the Resource Guide or Parallel window, you can link your main window with the Study Center when you turn on this setting in the Settings menu. Follow the steps below to edit which windows are linked:
- Select 'Bible Study' in the top bar and then select 'Settings'.
- Select Scrolling.
- Window Linking settings can be found at the bottom of this list.
When Window Linking is turned on, you will see one of the icons below when you look in the lower right corner of the Resource Guide or Parallel window. Secondary click (or hold 'control' and click) to choose your desired behavior for the Parallel window.
Do Not Link - This icon indicates that the windows are currently unlinked. If you scroll in the main window while this icon is showing, the Resource Guide/Parallel window will not scroll along. Selecting the Unlinked icon will Relink the windows.
Unlink on Scroll - This icon indicates that the Windows are currently linked. If you scroll in the main window, the Resource Guide/Parallel window will follow along. However, if you scroll in the Resource Guide/Parallel window the link will be broken. If you select icon, you will lock the window link.
Never Unlink - This icon indicates that the Window Link is locked. When the link is locked, the link will not break, unless you select this icon again to unlock the link.
