Start a Reading Plan

Select the Reading Plan icon on the toolbar to browse available reading plans.

Select the reading plan you would like to use to view its details. Select Start Reading to create the plan.

First, you'll be prompted to choose a preferred translation. “Recently Opened Bible” is selected by default, but you can choose any downloaded Bible text or audio Bible. Once you've selected your preferred translation, select Continue.

Next, you can choose whether to set a completion goal. Select No, I would rather take my time to skip this step, or select Yes, help me set a goal to complete this reading plan to choose a goal.

You can then choose to add reminders. Select + Add Reminder to set a notification reminder. Choose the days and times you want to receive the reminder. To add another reminder, select + Add Reminder again.

Select Continue to begin reading the first assignment.

Devotional Reading Plans

When you download a devotional that supports reading plans, the My Devotionals section appears near the top of the Reading Plans list, just below your current plans. If the devotional doesn't appear, you may need to restart the app to refresh the list.

To see whether a devotional supports reading plans, check the product features on the Olive Tree website.

 

Accessing and Completing Assignments

To open and complete your current reading assignment:

Select the Reading Plan icon on the toolbar.

Locate the plan you want to read and select Continue Reading to start the current assignment. You can also select View Schedule to see more information about the plan and its assignments.

After completing an assignment, select Next to continue to the next assignment. At the end of the day's final assignment, select Complete Reading to mark the day's reading as complete, or select Next Reading to continue directly to the next day's assignment.

Reading Plan Options

You can customize your reading plan and view information about your plan and progress.

Select the Reading Plan icon on the toolbar, then select View Schedule for the plan you want to manage.

The upper-right corner includes icons for reminders and plan details.

Reminders

Select the reminder icon:

Select + Add Reminder to set a notification reminder. Choose the days and time you want to receive the reminder. To add another reminder, select + Add Reminder again.

Plan Details

Select the i icon to view additional information about your plan:

1. Title: The title of the reading plan. Select the pen icon next to the title to change it.
2. Published By: The publisher of the reading plan. This cannot be changed.
3. Description: A summary of the plan, usually describing what portion of the Bible will be read and how the readings are arranged.
4. Date Started: The date the reading plan was created. This cannot be changed.
5. Projected End Date: The date you are projected to finish the plan based on your current progress. If you have set a completion goal, this will be your goal date. Otherwise, the app calculates a projected date based on the number of remaining assignments.
6. Last Date Read: The date on which you most recently completed an assigned reading.
7. Preferred Translation: The Bible text or audio Bible you prefer to use for this plan. You can change your preferred translation at any time.
8. Completion Goal: Your goal date for completing the reading plan. Once a goal is set, the app shows how many readings need to be completed each day to meet your goal. When a completion goal is set, the goal date is used as the Projected End Date.

Delete a Reading Plan

To delete a reading plan:

Select the Reading Plan icon on the toolbar.

Select View Schedule for the plan you want to delete.

Select the i icon in the upper-right corner.

Select the Delete icon.

Select Remove to confirm that you want to delete the reading plan.
