Mac - How to Use Audio

Olive Tree offers Audio Bibles and books for use within the Olive Tree Bible App. On our website, you can browse and purchase Audio Bibles and audio books. You can also purchase audio titles from within the in-app Store. This article will include information on how to use audio Bibles or books within the Olive Tree Bible App.

Listening to Audio Resources

Once you set up an audio Bible or audio book for streaming, it will appear in your Library. First, select the Library icon.

Make sure you are in either the 'Cloud' or 'Device' tab in the Library and select the audio Bible you want to listen to.

When you select an audio Bible from the Library, the Audio Player will open. To get started, you can navigate to any location in the Bible by selecting the current location.

When the Verse Chooser is open, select any Bible book, followed by the chapter and verse. 

As soon as you select the verse number, the audio Bible will jump to that spot and begin to play.

If you have the text of the Bible translation downloaded to the Library, you can read the verse and listen to the audio at the same time. Select the caption icon to toggle this off/on.

The various features of the audio resource are also found in the Audio Player screen that is open now. Each feature has been circled with a number so you can learn about the options that are available.

1. Your current audio location. Select this to navigate to another location in the audio Bible or book.

2. The volume allows you to change how loud the audio plays.

3. The Options icon gives various options such as Audio Bookmarks, Sleep Timer, and Manage Downloads. 

4. Change how fast or slow the audio text is read to you.

5. The forward/back and play icons allow you to skip forward/back 30 seconds and play/pause.

6. The bookmark icon allows you to add a bookmark to the audio at any time. You can see the list of your bookmarks and sort them by selecting the Options icon (#2 above). 

7. The Table of Contents icon allows you to navigate to your desired location.

8. This icon minimizes the Audio Player so you can control your Audio while viewing the main window of the app. See the minimized player where you can control your audio in the lower left corner of the app. Note that your sidebar will need to be open to see this option.
