We offer audio Bibles and books within the Olive Tree Bible App. You can see the audio Bibles and audio books we have available to purchase on our website.
Before you can stream or download your audio Bibles and books you will need to download the app and sign in. Once you have signed in, follow the steps below to access your audio Bibles and books.
Stream or Download Audio Books
The process for downloading audio books in the app is different than downloading books. Due to the size of audio files, we understand that you may not want all the audio files stored on your device. As a result, we give you a few options:
- Add an audio book to your library and stream it. This option uses minimal space on your device, but does require an internet connection.
- Download the full Bible or book for offline listening. This option uses the most space on your device.
- Download individual books of the Bible to listen offline. This allows you to keep certain books of the Bible on your device without using as much space. This is only available for audio Bibles.
We will go over each of these options in more detail below.
Stream your Audio Bible or Book
Open the Olive Tree Bible App on your device and select the Library icon. Ensure that the Library is on either the 'Cloud' or 'Device' tab. Your audio Bibles and books will appear in either of these tabs.
Select the audio title you wish to play.
Select the Play icon to play the audio.
If you have the corresponding Bible text downloaded within the Olive Tree Bible App, Bible text can be displayed while listening to the audio Bible. Select the caption icon to toggle this off/on. (This only works with audio Bibles.)
Download your Audio Bible
To listen to the audio Bible offline, select the Options icon and then select 'Manage Download'.
On this screen, you can download individual books of the Bible or select 'Download All'. In this way, you can manage your storage and only download what you need to.
In this example, we are downloading Genesis only. You will see the progress reach 100% when it finishes downloading.
Once the download is complete, you will see that the green download arrow is now gone for Genesis.
When the audio Bible has been downloaded, you can listen to the downloaded content without internet access.
If you would like to see and manage how much the space that audio Bibles and books use on your device, visit our Manage Storage article for more information or continue reading below.
Manage Download
If you decide you would like to uninstall some or all of the audio after it has been downloaded, select the Options icon and select 'Manage Download':
Select 'Edit'.
This will reveal a "minus" symbol, which you can select to remove the download.
You will be asked to confirm the deletion of the download by selecting 'Delete' in the pop up.
When you confirm the deletion, you will no longer be able to listen to that audio Bible content offline. However, it is still available for streaming, and you are always welcome to download it again in the future.
Offload Audio Bible or Book
You can also offload a full audio Bible or audio book. Offloading an audio Bible or book removes the files from your device to free up memory, but still leaves it available in your Library to stream with an Internet connection. Follow these steps to offload an audio Bible or book:
Open your Library (books with a cross on the toolbar). Select the Options icon in the upper right corner (three dots). Select 'Library Settings'.
Select 'Manage Storage'.
Select 'Offload Resources'.
Select the audio Bible or book you wish to offload.
Select 'Offload Audio Bible.'
