Verse or Text Based
There are two ways to create highlights within our app: word based and verse based. Word-based highlights are created by selecting text and are tied to the Bible or book in which they were created. Verse-based highlights are created by tapping on a verse number. These highlights will display across all your downloaded Bible translations because they are tied to the verse number.
Create a Highlight
You can create a highlight when viewing text in your app. As mentioned above, highlights can be tied to either a verse or text. Here are the steps you can follow to add a highlight:
Verse Based:
- Click a verse number and select 'Highlight' in the pop-up menu.
- Select your desired highlighter color.
Text Based:
- Click and drag to select the desired text.
- Secondary click or hold the 'control' key and click the selected text. Hover over 'Highlight' and select your desired highlighter. Alternatively, select 'Edit' in the top bar, hover over 'Highlight', and select your desired highlighter.
Edit a Highlight
Once a highlight is created, it can be located in the 'My Stuff' area of the Study Center.
- To access 'My Stuff', select the Study Center button in the upper right corner of the app
- Select 'My Stuff'.
- Select 'Highlights'.
- Choose the Highlighter color associated with the highlight you wish to edit, or select 'View All'.
- Locate the highlight you wish to edit. Secondary click (or hold the 'control' key and click) on the desired highlight and select 'Edit Highlight'.
- The 'Edit Highlight' pop-up will appear where you can change the label (title), assign the highlight to a category, change the highlighter color, and add/edit the tags. When finished editing, select the 'Save' button.
