Why do my resources need to be downloaded again?
The file format for resources has changed in the latest app update. This requires all of your resources to be re-downloaded. For download steps, click here.
The change in file format allows for new features and functionality within the app. For example, we will be able to offer charts that allow you to tap on Bible verse references (rather than screenshots of charts). We are also offering interlinear Bibles, which was not possible within our older app due to the old file type for resources. Once you have updated your resources to the current format, you should not need to do so again unless you get a new device, re-install the app, etc.
How do I access or hide the toolbar?
The recent Android update includes some major changes with how we display text within the app. Due to these changes, accessing the toolbar behaves a little differently. To access or hide the toolbar, double tap the screen while viewing text.
Why aren’t my book ribbons working?
With the 6.0 update, any existing book ribbons will no longer function. However, any future book ribbons that you add will work properly.
In order to delete an unwanted book ribbon, tap My Stuff (suitcase icon) from the main window of your app, then tap Book Ribbons and tap and hold the Book Ribbon you want to delete.
Can I change the storage path to an external memory card?
In our initial release of the 6.0 update, there wasn't an option to store resources to an external memory card. However, based on user feedback, our Android developers added this capability, and we now offer a way to move the storage path to an external SD card. For a tutorial on changing your storage path, click here.
Why isn't the menu button on my device working?
In older versions of the Bible Study app, many features were accessed by using the built-in menu button on the Android device. Because many new Android devices do not have a menu button, this made it difficult to access these options on certain devices. In the latest Android update, all functions and settings can be accessed from the toolbar at the top of the app. To access or hide the toolbar, double tap the screen while viewing text.
Why was my font changed when updating the app?
In the 6.0 version of the app, a new font option was added. In order to showcase the new SourceSansPro font, you will find that your font changes to SourceSansPro when you update your app. You can adjust your font settings from within the app by going to Settings (A* icon), Advanced Settings, and Font Settings.
Where is the 'Exit' button?
There is no longer an option to exit the app through the app menu. If you stop using an app, your device should automatically stop running it after a period of time. However, if you would like to force close the app, you have two options. First, open your Recent Apps menu and swipe the program off the screen to close it or tap the 'x' in the upper right corner of the app screen. To open the recent apps menu, press and hold your home button or tap the multitasking key. Second, you can double long tap the back button on your Android device.
