The Verse Chooser allows you to navigate in your resources in the Olive Tree app. There are several ways to access the Verse Chooser and several layout options for the Verse Chooser. This article will walk you through each option.
Accessing the Verse Chooser:
The first way to access the Verse Chooser in the app is to tap the verse reference from the menu at the top of the screen. (If the menu is not accessible, tap anywhere on the screen to reveal the menu.)
Tapping on the verse reference will bring up a screen with 'Choose Book' at the top. Choose a passage to navigate to by tapping a Bible book, a chapter, and a verse. The app will then jump directly to that spot in the Bible.
The second way to access the Verse Chooser is by tapping the menu button in the upper left corner and tapping 'Go To Verse' under 'Read'.
Tapping on 'Go To Verse' will bring up the 'Choose Book' menu mentioned above that you can use to navigate to a book, chapter, and verse.
Grid Layout v. List Layout:
When you navigate to the 'Choose Book' screen using either of the above methods, you'll notice a gear icon in the upper right corner.
There are three options for how to arrange your Verse Chooser. You can either have a compact or full grid layout like you see above. You can also choose a list layout that looks like this:
We recommend using the grid layout for Bibles, so you can quickly jump between verses. We recommend the list layout for commentaries, study Bibles, dictionaries, etc. where you need to access introductions, maps, charts, articles, and more of the features that are unique to these types of resources.
