iPhone/iPad - Highlights and Highlighters

What are Highlights?

Highlights let you visually mark key words, phrases, or verses so they stand out during your Bible study. Whether you're identifying important themes, tracking repeated ideas, or simply marking a verse to revisit later, highlights provide a personal way to stay engaged with Scripture. You can also organize your highlights using tags and categories to make them easy to browse and reference later.

Verse-Based vs. Word-Based Highlights

There are two ways to create highlights in the app:

  • Verse-Based Highlights: Created by selecting a verse number. These highlights are tied to that verse and appear across all downloaded Bible translations.
  • Word-Based Highlights: Created by selecting specific text. These are tied to the exact resource where they were created (e.g., a specific Bible translation or commentary).

Create a Highlight

You can create a highlight when viewing text in your app. As mentioned above, these highlights can be tied to either a verse or text. Here are the steps you can follow to add a highlight:

  • Tap a verse number or select text and select Highlight from the pop-up menu.
