Dropping Support for Version 5.4 of the Windows Desktop App

As time advances, so does technology. Starting on October 15, 2017, our servers will no longer be able to support the previous app version 5.4 for Windows Desktop. The following functionalities will stop working in the app:

  • Sync
  • Downloading titles
  • Logging into your Olive Tree Account
  • Viewing the in-app Store

Our earliest Windows application was designed for Windows 7 and that is still the earliest Windows operating system we support. All devices running Windows 7 and above are able to update to our current app. 

UPDATING YOUR APP

We released version 6.0 for Windows Desktop as a separate download, so checking for updates in the 5.4 app will either inform you that the app is up to date or result in an error message. We apologize for the confusion that this may have caused. 

To download the update, go to www.olivetree.com/pc and click ‘Download Now’. This will download and install the new 6.0 version of the app on your PC. Once the new app is installed, please follow the steps below to log into your Olive Tree account and download your resources:

Log into your OliveTree.com account by clicking on “Bible Study” in the upper left corner. Click “Account” to enter your username and password.

Follow these steps to download your books:

  • Click on “Purchased Books”. 
  • Find the title you want to download and click “Download” to download it. 
  • Once the title has been downloaded, it will appear in your Library.

Please note that your previous version of the app will still be installed on your PC. We recommend removing the previous version once you have downloaded the 6.0 app, logged into your account, installed your resources, and synced your annotations.
