Bad URL error on the download screen in iOS
Posted by Genny G on 28 November 2011 12:05 PM

We have identified an issue in the iOS BibleReader program (iPod, iPhone, iPad) that causes users with a space or certain non-alphanumeric characters in their user names or passwords to see a “Download failed with error: Bad URL” when attempting to access products within their Olive Tree library. If you are experiencing this problem, you will see the error when selecting the downloads tab within the store section of the program. If you are experiencing this issue, and have identified that your username has a space or other character that might be keeping you from a successful download, please do the following: Log into your account on the Olive Tree website using a browser: Now return to your BibleReader program. Attempt your download again. Please note that the problem should be corrected in the next update! Read more »

If you are not seeing your in-application purchases on your Mac BibleReader

If you just downloaded and installed your new Mac BibleReader, but aren’t seeing your purchases, there may be two things that are affecting what you are seeing in your library. REGISTERING YOUR PURCHASES The first occurs if you have ever made purchases from within your iPhone, Android, or iPad BibleReader program, but never registered your purchases with Olive Tree. Without that registration, your books will not appear in the "Purchased Books" tab in your Mac BibleReader program. To make the products available on Mac, you will need to register them on your mobile devices first. The steps below outline the process for Apple devices, and the Android BibleReader is almost the same. Open your library and then tap on the "Store" button. Tap on the Purchased Tab. Tap on "Back up and synchronize books with your Olive Tree account". If you do not have an Olive Tree account: - Follow steps 1-3 above. - Tap on "Create Account" - Enter your email address and a password and tap on "Create Account" Now login on your Mac by going to the Account tab on the Mac top menu bar and putting in your account information. You then may need to close BibleReader on your Mac, and reopen it to see the books listed in the "Purchased Books" tab. If for some reason your products are not registering, please use the "request assistance" button on the support page. BOOKS NOT YET AVAILABLE ON THE MAC PLATFORM Although the Olive Tree team has been working very hard to secure all the necessary permissions for our various titles, there remains about 135 titles that we are still working on obtaining. Keep watching as further titles become available in the coming weeks! Read more »

We hope to have all the Olive Tree titles currently available for iPhone and iPad on the Mac shortly and are working hard to complete all the permissions to do so. Read more »

BibleReader on the new Kindle Fire

Did you just get a new Kindle Fire? We're excited that OliveTree BibleReader is available on the first day of launch with the new Kindle Fire. As is the case with other developers with applications on the Fire, we were unable to test with a real Kindle until November 15th when it arrived in our office. Once we were able to test out the performance of the product, we confirmed that current customers with existing Olive Tree accounts were unable to download their previous purchases within the application. Our developers quickly identified the problem and we will be submitting an update to fix the issue shortly. Once it has been reviewed and approved by Amazon you will be able to download it to your device. We recommend waiting for the update, but if you need to access your resources quickly and have a a comfort level with downloading and moving files with a file manager application, please see the following instructions. PREPARE FOR DOWNLOADING YOUR FILES:
DOWNLOAD THE FILES
INSTALL THE FILES TO THE KINDLE
We apologize for any inconvenience, and hope to have an update available soon! Read more »
